Our fledgling pastel society is officially part of the International Association of Pastel Societies, IAPS (pronounced "eye-apps"), giving our members access to scores of workshops and training opportunities, convention discounts, and other perks to help improve our pastel techniques.

For those who simply enjoying improving their craft, that information alone should make their hearts beat faster. For other artists who are aiming for national recognition and sales, the doors can start flying open.

What membership gets you

At $30/year membership is a true bargain. What do you get for membership? The list is long, but let me get you started with a few bullet points:

-A chance to give back to the world-using our art to raise money for needy non-profits is part of our mission statement, and we take it seriously. To date we've helped an orphanage in Panama struggling to feed their kids during the pandemic, and we've assisted Ukranian artists fleeing the Russian invasion.

-Art friends-we're a friendly, supportive group of arts who love to include other people in our group

-High quality pastel art instruction: workshops, mini-demonstrations, Zoom tours, Plein Air painting events

-Discounts with top pastel companies-just for joining our group

We keep adding to the list of membership benefits. Join us for only $30/year and see what wonderful things come your way.

Thanks to the pastel society. I used my coupon and was able to save $41 on Terry Ludwig pastel. My friend used hers and save $81 on a full set!! We are ever so grateful

I am so pleased to be a part of this vibrant group of arts who are lifetime students. We encourage one another and laugh, play and get serious about improving our skills. But what has hooked me is that by coming together we are giving out not just taking in. When I see many needs in our current world it is easy to feel helpless to help. The collective mind of our group is to use our art to raise funds to help others in our state, country and globe. That is why I joined up. If this seems to be right for you, come join us because we need you and the talents and vision only you can give to others!

Does this group still exist? Do you ever meet in Anchorage?
If so, I think I might be interested.
