Honorable Mention: Feline Wonder, Artist Yael Maimon
The artist uses her drawing skills to great effect in this painting of a cat. The animal is created with simple gestural lines and massed shapes and is the focal point in the middle of an indistinct background. The diagonal lines of the simply sketched background and ledge all lead our eyes to the upturned green eyes of the cat.
